Sheffield Silent Generator

The software development company has been based in the city of Sheffield since they were formed in the early 2010's. The city tech company has been creating business software applications with a view on company accounts. They recognised a need for a backup power solution last winter when they missed an application release date because of a critical loss of power during the final development stages of their flagship application. The company decided that this could never happen again and that they would have a suitable standby power solution in place in time for the next winter.

Sheffield Genset

Located in the heart of South Yorkshire, historically Sheffield is a city closely associated with the steel industry. These days the city of Sheffield has many businesses across a wide range of industries that make this northern powerhouse city one to watch in the future.  The city boasts two universities in the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University both with a campus in the city centre. This means that Sheffield is lucky to have a stream of talent flowing into the city each year.

Sheffield has great links to the rest of the UK with the M1 and A1 motorways both running past the city. Train connections are good with regular services to London, Leeds and Manchester, with the planned HS2 high-speed connection due to connecting with the city the train links are to improve further in the next few years. Sheffield is also located close to several airports With Leeds Bradford airport to the north, Manchester Airport to the West, East Midlands Airport to the south and Doncaster Robin hood the closest about a 30-minute drive east along the M18.

Our client knew that they were looking for a 20kVA gen-set as they had already figured out how much power they needed to operate within a standby power situation. The client looked at our 20kVA generator options and took most interest in the GBW22P by Pramac generators with a Perkins generator engine or the Cummins C22D5. In the end, the Cummins Power Generation set was the chosen solution. Their choice was mainly down to the good things they had already heard about Cummins generators.
